I’m Nibwene
My name means ‘I have seen myself’ in Nyakyusa. I’m from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and I’ve been living in Germany (various cities) for nine years. I started this site as a blog when I was in high school in October 2014.
I work(ed) in climate and energy policy since 2019 when I got an internship at the UNFCCC Secretariat during my Bachelor’s studies. Since then, I’ve worked for other leading organisations and research institutes in the field.
Most recently, I co-authored the report New Visions for Fossil Fuel Revenue Replacements in Angola, Senegal and Tanzania, published in June 2026 by the Fossil Fuel Treaty Initiative.
I have a Master’s in International Affairs from the Hertie School (Berlin), a Bachelor’s in International Relations: Politics and History from Jacobs University Bremen (Bremen) and a love for writing
